Who we are
Time Tether is a mobile app made and run by Noor Staffing Group, LLC, a division of Noor Inc. (“Noor Staffing Group”, “we”, “us”), 28 W 44th Street, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10036, United States. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
You can reach us about privacy at nsgaiteam@noorstaffing.com or (212) 683-0045.
What this policy covers
This policy explains what information the Time Tether app for Android (package com.noorstaffing.timetether) and this website collect, why, who sees it, how long it is kept and the choices you have. It applies to workers placed by Noor Staffing Group who use the app.
Our website noorstaffing.com has its own Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Where your information is also part of your employment or placement records, the notices you received when you joined Noor Staffing Group apply as well.
This website, timetether.noorstaffing.com, sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Our web server keeps standard access logs (the address of your device, the page requested and the time) for security, for up to 30 days.
What we collect
Your account is created by Noor Staffing Group when you are placed. After that, the app collects only what it needs to record your work.
| Information | What it includes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Your name, work email address, the placements and roles you are assigned to | To sign you in and show you your own shifts |
| Sign-in security | One-time codes we email you, an authenticator app if you set one up, recovery codes, and the devices signed in to your account | To keep your account yours and let you sign out of other devices |
| Shift records | Your schedule, punch-in and punch-out times, breaks, recorded hours, approval status, edit requests with their reasons, and your answers to shifts you are booked for | To record your time, have it approved and pay you |
| Location | Your phone's precise and approximate location when you punch in and out, and about every 30 seconds while you are clocked in. See Location, in detail | To confirm attendance at the place of work |
| Expense claims | What a claim is for, the amount, the job, and the receipt photo you take or choose | To review and repay your expenses |
| Messages | Messages and photos you send to your agency team in chat | To let you and your agency talk about your work |
| App and device | App version, Android version, phone make and model, and error details when something fails | To keep the app working, ask you to update when needed and fix problems |
What stays on your phone
- To show you the right setup steps, the app checks on your phone whether notifications and battery settings let it keep sharing during a shift. These checks are not sent to us.
- While you are clocked in, the app reads the phone's motion sensor to tell whether the phone is still, so it can discard location readings that jump about. The readings are used on the phone and not sent to us.
- The camera is used only when you choose to take a photo for a receipt or a message.
What we never collect
Your contacts, call log, text messages, browsing, other apps, your location when you are not clocked in, or an advertising identifier.
Location, in detail
Location is the most personal thing the app handles, so here is exactly how it works.
- When it starts. Location is read when you press Punch In, and the punch is recorded with it. Sharing starts at that moment. Nothing is read before.
- While you are clocked in. Your location is sent about every 30 seconds while a shift is open. Android shows a notification for as long as sharing is on, and the app shows a note on its main screen.
- When it stops. Sharing stops the moment you press Punch Out, including between shifts on the same day. The app does not read your location when you are not clocked in.
- Background permission. The app asks only for location while it is in use. It does not ask to read your location “all the time”. Sharing continues during a shift because you started it by punching in, and the notification stays visible throughout.
- Trips for mileage. Where your agency repays mileage, the app records the route of a trip only between the moment you start it and the moment you stop it.
- Who sees it. The Noor Staffing Group staff who manage your placement and attendance. It is not sold, and it is not shared with advertisers.
- How long it is kept. Raw location points are deleted after 90 days. The times of your punches stay on your timesheet.
- Your choice. You can turn location off or remove the permission at any time in your phone's settings. Your schedule, timesheet, claims and chat keep working; punching in and out needs location, because your agency confirms where the work happened.
How we use it
- To provide the app: sign-in, your schedule, punching in and out, breaks, timesheets, claims and chat.
- To confirm attendance at the place of work, and to settle questions about hours.
- To have your time and expenses approved, and to run payroll and repay expenses.
- To keep your account and our systems secure and to prevent fraud, such as punches made for someone else or from a faked location.
- To tell you about your shifts, approvals and messages in the app.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping wage and hour records.
We use your information because we need it to perform our agreement with you and to employ or place you, because the law requires it, or because we have a legitimate interest in accurate, secure time records. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
Who we share it with
- Noor Staffing Group staff who manage your placement, attendance, payroll and compliance, each seeing only what their work needs.
- The client company where you work sees your schedule, hours and time entries so they can approve them.
- Service providers who host our systems and deliver our emails, such as sign-in codes. They act on our instructions, under contract, and may not use your information for anything else.
- Authorities and advisers when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of people, or to defend legal claims.
- A buyer or successor if Noor Staffing Group's business is sold or merged, under this policy's protections.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How long we keep it
| Information | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Raw location points | 90 days, then deleted |
| Time, pay and approved expense records | As long as wage, tax and employment laws require (for payroll records in New York, six years) |
| Messages and chat photos | While your account is open, unless they form part of a record we must keep |
| Account and sign-in data | While your account is open; deleted within 30 days of a confirmed deletion request, except records we must keep |
| Website access logs | Up to 30 days |
How we protect it
Everything the app sends travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to personal information is limited to the people who need it for their work. Two-step sign-in protects your account, and you can sign out of every device at once from the app. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your information occurs, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information, apart from records the law requires us to keep;
- give you your information in a portable format;
- stop or limit some uses of it.
To make a request, email nsgaiteam@noorstaffing.com from the address on your account, or use the Data Subject Access Request Form. We will confirm who you are before acting, answer within 45 days, and never treat you differently for using these rights. To delete your account, see Delete your account.
You can also turn off location, notifications and the camera in your phone's settings at any time, and uninstalling the app stops all collection from your phone.
California and other states
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the rights above, and the right to know the categories of information we collect. In the last 12 months we collected: identifiers (name, email); professional and employment information (placements, schedules, hours, approvals); precise geolocation while you are clocked in; photos you attach; and internet or device information (app and device details). Precise geolocation is sensitive personal information; we use it only to provide the service and confirm attendance, as the law allows, and not to infer anything about you.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. You can use Do Not Sell My Personal Information and Privacy Settings on our company website, or ask an authorized agent to make a request for you. Residents of other states with privacy laws, such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and Texas, have similar rights and can use the same routes; if we refuse a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.
Children
Time Tether is for workers placed by Noor Staffing Group and is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, such as a new use of location, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
